Frequently Asked Questions
What is VO2Max OCR?
VO2Max OCR is a new regional race series based out of Colorado Springs. The goal is to introduce the USAOCR 3-band system, as this is becoming the international standard for obstacle course racing.
Where is the race located?
The race will take place in and around the Altitude Movement gym in Colorado Springs.
750 Garden of the Gods Rd #125, Colorado Springs, CO 80907
How long is the course?
The race will be approximately 3K.
How many obstacles are there?
The exact number is still TBD, but we estimate there will be 15-20 obstacles.
What types of obstacles should I expect?
Swinging, hanging, climbing, carrying, crawling, and accuracy/agility obstacles will be plentiful. And running, of course!
Is this race beginner-friendly?
Absolutely! This is a great race to experience the challenge and excitement of OCR for the first time!
Will there be water, mud, or swimming?
No. This is an indoor/outdoor event so there will be dirt, and if the weather is wet there may be muddy or slick footing. However, there will not be any specific water or mud obstacles.
What does registration include?
Finishers receive a medal and a finisher t-shirt. Other swag will be available for purchase.
Do you offer refunds?
Refunds are not available, but you may transfer your registration to another racer for a small admin fee. Please contact us if the need arises.
What happens if I can’t attend race day?
We will miss you! No refunds are provided, but you will still receive the t-shirt and an invitation to the next race.
Can I run with my friends?
Absolutely! The obstacles must be accomplished individually, but friends and family can run together.
What is the difference between Competitive and Open waves?
Competitive waves will be grouped by age, and podium awards will be given in each age group. Open waves do not compete for podium placement, and will receive a finisher medal only.
Can spectators attend?
Yes, there will be an area for spectators, and they can attend for free!
What happens in case of bad weather?
We will have a protocol in place for unsafe weather conditions. If it's just a little cold or wet, we will consider it an obstacle and overcome it!
